Good training should change what happens after the training.
We’ve all sat through presentations that were informative, technically correct — and almost completely forgotten by the time we got back to work.
I want training to be different.
Reviresco offers engaging, practical education for provider teams, professionals, families, and community organizations. Trainings are designed to make complex ideas understandable, connect them to real situations, and give people something useful to take with them when the presentation is over.
Because knowing something is only helpful if we can figure out what to do with it.

What it is
Training & Education through Reviresco can range from a focused discussion with a small team to a workshop or presentation for a larger group.
With a background spanning special education, behavior consultation, disability services, organizational leadership, and professional training, I bring both behavioral expertise and real-world experience to the room.
Rather than relying on a single standard presentation, trainings can be customized around the people attending, the challenges they’re encountering, and what you want them to understand or do differently afterward.
Topics may include:
- Understanding behavior and why it occurs
- Looking beyond the behavior to understand the whole person
- Practical approaches to challenging behavior
- Proactive support and prevention
- Person-centered and compassionate behavior support
- Supporting people with intellectual and developmental disabilities
- Building effective relationships with the people we support
- Communication and collaboration within support teams
- Creating consistency across caregivers or staff
- Burnout, perspective, and sustainability in helping professions
- Leadership and team development in human services
- Customized topics based on the needs of your group
Have something specific in mind? Reach out. If it’s within my area of expertise, we can build something around what your group actually needs.
Who it’s for
Training can be designed for a variety of groups, including:
- DSPD provider organizations
- Direct support professionals
- Host-home providers
- Program managers and leadership teams
- Behavior support teams
- Educators and school staff
- Parents and caregivers
- Community organizations
- Disability-related groups and programs
- Other professionals who support people with behavioral or developmental needs
You don’t need to be affiliated with DSPD to request a training.
What to expect
-
Tell me about your group
Start by telling me who will be attending, what’s happening in your organization or community, and what prompted you to look for training.
If you already know exactly what topic you want, great.
If all you know is “Our team is struggling with this and we need help,” that’s enough to start.
-
Define what matters
We’ll talk about what you’d like participants to understand, think about, or do differently after the training.
That helps us move beyond “What should Emily talk about?” to the much more useful question:
“What would make this time worthwhile for the people in the room?”
-
Build the training
I’ll tailor the content, examples, activities, and level of detail to the audience and the goals we’ve identified.
A training for experienced disability-services professionals should look different from a workshop for parents or an introductory presentation for a community group.
The people in the room matter.
-
Make it useful
During the training, we’ll connect concepts to real situations and leave room for questions, discussion, and application whenever the format allows.
My goal isn’t simply for participants to leave saying, “That was interesting.” I’d rather they leave saying:
“I understand this differently now — and I know what I want to try.”
A practical approach
Less jargon. More understanding.
Behavior analysis has powerful tools for understanding why people do what they do.
It also has a vocabulary that can make perfectly understandable ideas sound unnecessarily complicated.
I believe good education translates expertise rather than displaying it.
That means explaining concepts in plain language, using examples people recognize, making room for questions, and connecting principles to the messy reality of supporting actual human beings.
Evidence matters. So does whether anyone can use it on Monday morning.
Common questions
What topics do you offer?
Training can be customized around behavior, disability support, person-centered practices, team collaboration, caregiver or staff support, and other topics within my professional experience and expertise.
If you’re not sure whether your topic fits, reach out and tell me what you’re looking for. I’ll let you know whether I’m the right person for it.
Do you provide training for DSPD providers?
Yes.
My professional background includes years working within Utah’s DSPD provider system, including organizational leadership, staff development, behavior support, and training.
Trainings can be designed for direct support professionals, host-home providers, program leadership, or mixed teams.
Do you train parents and families?
Absolutely.
A family workshop may look very different from professional staff training, but many of the same principles — understanding behavior, responding proactively, building skills, and creating supportive environments — can be useful at home.
Can you customize a training for our organization?
Yes. In fact, I prefer it.
Understanding your audience and what your organization is actually encountering allows me to make the training more relevant and useful.
Depending on the topic and format, customization may range from adapting an existing presentation to developing training specifically for your group.
Do you offer virtual training?
Virtual and in-person options may be available depending on the topic, audience, location, and size of the group.
We’ll talk about what format makes the most sense when you reach out.
Can you speak at a conference or community event?
Yes.
I’m available to discuss workshops, conference presentations, professional-development events, parent groups, and community education opportunities when the topic aligns with my areas of expertise.
How long are trainings?
That depends on what you need.
A focused presentation might fit into an existing staff meeting, while a more comprehensive topic may benefit from a longer workshop.
We’ll determine the length and format based on your audience, goals, and setting rather than squeezing every topic into the same package.
Let’s start a conversation.
Looking for a speaker, workshop, staff training, or customized learning experience?
Tell me a little about your group and what you’re hoping to accomplish. I’ll follow up personally, usually within two business days.
